@Matt R. Hi, thank you so much for your reply. Very detailed. Definitely the second option is cheaper to go with. But just required little bit work every month. I was also thinking adding the utility bill to the rent as a fixed price. However, it might be risky. There is no fully control of the usage for the tenant.

I’m currently looking at a 2 family house. However, the house has only one share meter on gas and electricity. Planning to rent out one of the unit, what should I do is a better option towards amount charge to the tenant about gas and electricity usage?

If I install additional meters for both, how much it will cost me ?
