Awesome @Brady Morgan I will definitely check out your YT channel. I don't find much 4-plex in my market so the idea of just building one and renting it came to mind. I will definitely do my research on this. Thank you!
@Paul Burger haven't thought about that. Where's the best place to find more information about it?
Thanks @Kristi Kandel I completely agree with you. I'm making it a point to get out to some local meetups and network this year. Working towards this year being a big step towards taking action. Experience is the best teacher.
@Drago Stanimirovic Thank you so much for that response. I definitely have a lot to consider.
@Marc Rice Yes, a mentor would be great. I have a family friend who is a GC and been building MF homes in the city for years. Plan is to connect with him for guidance on the entire process. Thank you for your suggestions.
Great point @Marc Rice I appreciate your feedback.
Hey @Todd Anderson thank you for responding. I think your absolutely right. Would probably be better that I buy from a builder, I just find it less appealing buying at retail when I'm looking for cash flow...I'm spoiled from having a $1000+ cash flowing property already, so if I'm not hitting that number, it's not going to work for me. I'm thinking I could have someone manage the build as my eyes and ears when I'm working. I do want the experience though to know if it's worth it or not.
@Robert Ellis thank you for your response. Yes, CT can be an expensive market but depending on where you work out of, it can be manageable. I'm also looking at Mass where my rental property is and much cheaper. Your designs look great! Would love to connect and talk more.
Hey @Jaycee Greene thanks for your response. I do have a family friend who is currently building in my market. I should be meeting with him soon. I'm interested in building 2-4 unit MF. If you don't mind connecting me with your client, I would love to speak with him. I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as I can before I take any action.
Hello BP Community,
I'm a rookie investor, only have one deal under my belt (Long term rental) and it's been treating me very well. As I take in as much content as possible from listening to the Rookie Real Estate podcast, I feel drawn to building multi-families and renting them out. I have a full time W2 that I'm passionate about, so I feel this process will allow me to time to make sound decisions as opposed to quick fix n flips. I'm interested in knowing your opinions, experiences with this strategy and any advice. Thanks for reading, look forward to hearing feedback!
