@Mitch Bernstein I've been going to those meetings at the SJREIA as well. I'm brand new to all of this and I have to say that I've found them to be a great source of education and a fantastic place to network within our local market. Lots of friendly people.

@Bill Gulley which advice are you recommending he ignore? I'm going over the above posts and I can't figure out which one you're referring to...

Thanks, Dmitriy! I'm happy to be here.

I was just looking at your bio and I have to say I'm pretty impressed! Having someone like you to bounce ideas off of would be a great help to me. May I add you as a colleague?

Wow! Hey thanks for the heads up!

I'm still researching/learning about financing these deals and i'm considering taking out a home equity loan to cover it. Do you think that's wise? And do you have a management company handle your rentals or do you take care of that aspect yourself? How do I know which ones to buy?

Sorry, I got carried away for a second there. Consider those questions rhetorical. I'll check out those podcasts this weekend and follow up with more research accordingly :)

Thanks again man.

Hey Kurt, thanks.

I see from your profile that you're in Atlantic City. Is that where you are referring to? What's your investment strategy for down there and how's it working for you?

Hello everyone, my name is Dan, I'm a blue collar guy (certified arborist) and I'm brand spanking new to real estate investing.

In an effort to educate myself about the business and gain some knowledge, I've come to hang out in your community. (I actually found your podcast first and listened to many episodes while shoveling snow this winter)

It's fantastic to find a place where everyone seems to be so supportive of one another and genuinely interested in helping. Rest assured that down the line I'll have many questions for you all, but in the meantime I'm so overwhelmed by the amount of information that it's hard to know which way is up. Your site appears to be very well organized and chock full of good information so I look forward to getting all warm and fuzzy here. Thanks again for letting me join in.

Dan.
