Post: Zoning Attorney suggestions

Looking for a zoning attorney in the Harrisburg, PA area that could help us through the variance process to convert a garage into an auxiliary unit which would be an apartment.
Can someone recommend a good floor plan program that is user friendly? We are looking to be doing more of our layouts for apartment buildings in-house.

Thanks @Peter Tverdov I really think after reading everyone's comments an open-house format may be my best solution as well as more strict instructions about texting an hour before to confirm.

@John Warren Thanks for this info. What kind of pre-screening questions do you send the potential tenants?

I have had a lot of trouble with no shows for unit viewings lately (mostly at multi-family properties, not big apartment complexes). I go through the process of initial contact with someone who puts in an inquiry (via email, text, or through zillow/trulia listing), follow up with talking on the phone and setting up a date and time for a showing. The evening before or morning of the showing I text them to confirm. I've had a number of people not respond (in which case I don't send someone out - usually the property owner - for the showing), but in many cases the person confirms and then just doesn't show.
How can I avoid this happening? It is such a waste of time and extremely aggravating.
Any input/ideas are greatly appreciated!

Can anyone suggest a good book for a comprehensive overview of Fair Housing Laws? As a newer Property Manager, I have been told by several people that I should know Fair Housing laws and regulations inside and out. I've taken an online course and some webinars, but think I would greatly benefit from an actual book.

Hi Joseph, I work for a property investment company in Philadelphia and was just curious about this group - it looks like you meet the first Tuesday of every month and feature discussions on various topics? How many investors come out to these monthly meetings? We haven't been to one of these networking events before and we're newer to the Biggerpockets scene, so just wondering what to expect. Thanks for any insight you may have.
