Thank you Brian for the information. Aside from "ease of use" are there different tax implications between a self-directed IRA and a Checkbook IRA? Also, is there a comprehensive list of custodian's and are there specific questions I should ask?

I am looking to rollover my traditional 401k & Roth 401k into a self directed Roth IRA. I was wondering what the best company to work with as a custodian would be. I also was curious how long the process takes from start to finish. All of my money is currently with T Rowe price and I am looking to make an investment in a property. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
