Post: Finding Private Money Lenders

Hello All,

I want to get started on buying properties using private money lenders. I was wondering, how do I go about finding someone that will loan me the money for a house or property? And typically, what is the expected return that the lenders expect from a deal?

Thank you

Hello All,

I was wondering what are your thoughts on investing in buy and hold properties at this time with sky high interest rates? I'm looking to start out but it seems like it might be better to wait for interest rates to go down to get better cash flow deals. What do you all think?

Thanks!

Hi Daniel, I read the "Long Distance Real Estate Investing" book by David Greene and I invest primarily out of state in Cleveland. I would love to connect and discuss this strategy. Feel free to reach out.

AJ, thanks for the book suggestion! I read that one next.

 Thanks for the tip!

How would you suggest I start cementing a good reputation? Show I join some clubs or attend some events?

Quote from @Deandre P.:

Hey Daniel,

My first tip would be to really think about your goals and what you are looking to get out of real estate investing. That will help you narrow down your strategy, whether your primary focus will be fix n flip, buy n hold, BRRRR, etc. In regards to the area, I am in TX and am very optimistic about the market here.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I would like to someday become financially independent of a traditional job. I would like to make real estate investing my main source of income someday. I want this so I can become financially secure to insure a better future for me and my future family. I would also like to have more free time to do the things I love with the ones I love.

I would like to focus on acquiring my first single family rental property in the next few months then, acquire more properties in the coming year or two. Eventually, I would want to sell those properties to acquire something bigger like an apartment complex or a building with lots of units.

The strategy I would like to focus on is buy and hold. Possibly some BRRRR properties if the right deal comes along.

Where in Texas would you say I should look?

Hello All,

My name is Daniel and I am starting my real estate investing journey!

I have read a few books on real estate investing and I'm taking an analysis course for real estate investing. Now, I am starting to look for places to invest in and focus in that area. I would probably want to start looking out of state (I'm from California). I was wondering if any of you could give me some tips on where to look and/or how to start. Anything to watch out for and where I should not invest.

Thank you in advance!
