Hey Sam, thanks for the response!

I am currently looking into possibly investing in both. I am currently renting here, I just moved here last month. I am looking into the possibility of buying next year over here and doing either an in home flip or just gain some equity in the home and possibly rent out when we leave. I haven't looked into all of the laws that are here but i do know that it is hard for people to build here such as large apartment buildings and tall buildings. So it seems like the prices of the houses here are pretty inflated because of that fact. So I'm still in the beginning stages of looking into buying here.

Mildenhall is closing down sometime in the future (5-7 years) but only for US military, there still will be UK military and civilians still in base and around the base. Also lakenheath is less than 10 minutes away so I don't think it will have too much affect on the area.

I am still in the beginning stages of what I am looking to do with real estate investing. Right now I am still just reading books and trying to figure everything out for the most part. At the moment I believe that what I would like to do is owning homes and renting out and since I'll be moving most likely have a property manager. There is a property manager out here called base lets that it seems all military that have bought a house and are leaving go through so I am looking into and researching that as one option.

But eventually I am wanting to end back up in South to Central Florida where I was born and buy more real estate down there.

Hello i just got here to the UK a month ago and was wondering if any others were in the area and possibly wanted to get together. I'm still new and am looking into making our first deal next year.

Thanks for looking. :)

Awesome thank you Elizabeth, what your doing is very similar to what we plan on doing soon. There are differences in BAH and OHA mainly that what you don't spend on your monthly allowance with OHA you don't get to keep like you do with BAH, but that's with renting. I am trying to figure out exactly how it works with buying.

No worries Randy, you atleast knew what it stood for and the proper way to use it so by all means keep doing it. I am not afraid to ask questions to learn more and since lingo is apart of doing real estate its something that I need to know. I actually got a book on craigslist called dictionary of real estate and investing terms so hopefully it helps me out with the lingo going on here!

Another Air Force guy, awesome! What is your job and how is your investing going so far?  I am wanting to just buy all the books and read through them all thats how excited I am about this but I know if I buy more than one at a time I will just be flipping back and forth between books because that's how my brain works for some reason and i'll become a lot less productive. Thank you for the well wishes, what base are you at?

That is awesome that you were able to notice everything you did and didn't do, I hope that I am able to start early next year small and slow and work up into bigger opportunities. Once I get my degree I am hoping to become a maintenance officer so that  I can start making more than I am at the moment to be able to make bigger investments when the time comes. Thats cool that he did MMA too, its definitely one of the most exciting things I have to do besides now learning to get more serious about investing which is still scary to me. What does arv mean?

Thank you Randy it's nice to meet you, we definitely do have a few things in common. I am also looking into getting my pilots license but most likely after I get my aeronautics degree, my goal is to have that before my time in England is up. Conner Mcgregor is probably one of the most exciting fighters at the moment and that's why I like him, the fight with Jose Aldo is going to be insane, I hope you get the chance to go. I was going to be on a trip to vegas with my plane until they gave me orders to move to England so that was a bummer but I am still happy that I am going. One of my goals while I am in England is to go out to Mcgregors training gym and get the chance to possibly train with him, also to Scotland to train with Jojo Calderwood. Through lucky occasions of where I grew up and where the military has placed me I have got the chance to train with multiple great UFC fighters and have some as my coaches. I am still an amateur fighter but I have gained alot of experience through training with so many different gyms. What made you stop flipping houses? Was it the bad deal that you had and learned from? And did you decide to just take a little time off and learn more before you proceeded?

Thank you for your reply,

Danny

Hello everyone,

My name is Daniel Inglis I am 23 and from South Florida, Currently living in Omaha, Nebraska but will be moving to Mildenhall, England next week. I am currently Active Duty Air Force and I am an avionics specialist. My hobbies are training muay thai and fitness. I have always been interested real estate but have always been too much of a chicken to have the drive to start. I made it a new years resolution of mine to get back into reading books and the first book I read was Urijah Faber's the laws of the ring which is basically about discovering your passion, inside of the books he talks highly about rich dad poor dad which made me want to read that next. I found someone giving away a copy on craiglist for free and picked it up right away. Once I started reading I couldn't stop, it took me 3 days to finish the book which is amazing for me since it usually will take me weeks to months because I like to find ways to get out of reading. After reading rich dad poor dad I was very motivated to finally give real estate a shot. I found the website by googleing top books for learning real estate and stumbled on a BP post about 21 best books. I am still in the beginning stages of learning and want to learn as much as possible, I also started watching the BP podcasts. I will be in England for 4 years and am looking to possibly by my first property out there. I will rent a house for the first year and learn as much as possibly and hopefully by the time that lease is up I will have enough knowledge to buy my first house or apartment. After all the military technically pays for a house with housing allowance whether you rent or own it.

Thank you for reading,

Daniel Inglis
