I have not bought any rental properties yet. I am very familiar with the area, it's my birthplace, the area has a favorable rental market for rentals.

Thank you for the advice. I have decided that if I do not have a partner I will not buy a property I can't see for myself. I may be a little too eager and making an investment now may do more harm than good. I have about year left before I return to the states and if I can not find a reliable partner I will focus on putting more money away and increasing my education in real estate.

I found a house I was thinking about buying as a rental property. The problem is the house is in Georgia and I am currently stationed in Japan. My anyone had and experience in buying homes without seeing them and relying on the word of professionals. Should I wait until I am able to take leave (about 9 months) look for other properties that may be available when I am in the area.

I am in the Navy and will be stationed in Japan until mid 2016. I am from Macon, Ga and plan on buying rental properties in that area. I am here to learn and be apart of the biggerpockets community. I am taking this time read and learn from more experienced investors.
