Thank you Bill I am going to research this as it is probably cheaper. The service I was signing up to is 6.95 per month for 3500 minutes. I forgive me but what is a GV voice mail?

Has anyone used Voice over IP DID numbers to avoid the bandit sign police? I have read that they cannot track you on these numbers.

Thanks Dave and Mike. Dave, I was going to by a list of absentee owners in a particular area here in Maryland. I am starting with wholesaling so that I can get a cash infusion (and not need any money). And I am looking for Sellers, not buyers...although they are equally important to me. Mike, I am definitely going to buy 100 bandit signs tomorrow. My plan was to put out 25 bandit signs each week in my target areas AND send out 100 letters to my list. I placed an ad on craigslist and I built a site. Can you guys suggest any other guerilla tactics (meaning low cost)?

Ali thanks, I really appreciate your fast and detailed response. I feel better about my meager efforts now. We all have to start some where and mine is with that first deal. Now..., can you share your list of 30, because I only have a list of about 6, LOL. I would REALLY appreciate that.

Got it George, thanks. I guess I am one of the few who actually read nost of them and sometimes retain the ones I like. I figured if someone NEEDED to sell and saw this they would keep it and I would get maybe a few calls out of this. I get unwanted junk mail every day, but I sometimes keep it and the yellow letter seems to be a nuisance to all but a few so I thought this would be about the same. But I see it is not so I am scapping this idea.

OK, I know using yellow letters is a proven good thing. But with my budget I can only afford to send out 100 per month to start (have to pay for my 100 bandit signs too). Ron Legrand said that if you cannot sent out at least 200 per week you will not see results. Well I get paid once per month and I cannot afford more right now so is 100 per month a waste of time or should I do what I can. I appreciate your advice.

Thank you all very much. That is why I asked. Something that sounds good to me...a newbie...turns out to not be so good after all...and I don't want to look like a "unprofessional" "barefoot moron", LOL!

Hello I am new to the Real Estate game. I have read many things on marketing and have decided to 1. Send out yellow letters 2. Put out Bandit signs 3. Bought magnetic signs 4. built a website 5. put fliers in grocery stores 6. posted on free sites like craiglist.

There are many train stations in my area with hundreds of cars. I want to place 500 fliers on these cars each month> I figure this is a captive audience and someone might think about selling or I might find a buyer. Your thoughts on this idea please? Also do you think my other methods mentioned are OK?

Thanks, Derek :D
