Hello BiggerPockets Community!

I am going to be taking a work related trip to Kansas City, Kansas the last week in February.  I would like to accomplish a few things while there and am hoping some of you can help me out.

I would like interview Property Management Companies, and would love your recommendations, and maybe you say a few words about why you would recommend them.

I would also like to have coffee or buy lunch for a few Commercial Real Estate Agents in the area.

So, if any of you have recommendations or want to meet up with me and my business partner please give me a shout back.  I love this forum!

Have a great week everyone!

@loganjung - have you ever considered a self-directed IRA? I am self employed so I use a self-direct 401K which allows me to contribute up to $58,000 per year. I can then use those funds to invest in real estate. I think the main difference between the two (IRA vs 401K) is how much you are able to contribute each year and how you pay your expenses. I know with the self-directed 401K I am the trustee, so I can have a checkbook and control what goes in what goes out , even down payments and cash purchases. I think with the self directed IRA you have to have whoever manages the account write those check. Anyway, I though you might like to educate yourself on those options. In my humble opinion, everyone should "own a business" so you are able to take control and advantage of your investments, taxes, and finances. Even if it is selling used items on EBay, babysitting, or walking dogs! Sense Financial helped set up my 401K and there is a lot of information on their website: http://www.sensefinancial.com/. Good Luck!

Good for you@Chris Vair.  I believe you, and salute 2017 as the year for commitment towards change.  No more corporate America!  I am also a new investor and real estate agent.  I will purchase my 2nd and 3rd home in 2017:)

Hi, David,  depending on the remodel costs of course, I have heard of investors turning 5-units to 4.  Just throwing that out there.  I'm a Washington State Broker and newbie investor.  I'm also taking the leap here soon.  If I can help, feel free to reach out:)

Ditto!  I need one, too.  I am also in the State of WA.  The only thing I would add is "a CPA with real estate investment experience."  Sorry to hijack your posting @jamesMarszalek.  I will take second seat to your request of course!
