@Bill B. the more I looked the more I was what you were referring to as it pertains to the NE. I will definitely stay away from that area. The more I research the more I see I should be open to Vegas but concentrate in a different area. I'm beginning to read posts now on the different challenges to owning long-distance properties.

@Ki C Chan

Thank you for the insight. I just moved to the area and I'm seeing the same thing. I'm looking on the basic sights (Zillow, Redfin, Trulio...) which I understand will not give me the best choices but it does allow me to at least learn what is here. So far I have concentrated my searches on the east side of I15. Prices there seem to be considerably less but I know those lower prices come with a different set of headaches. Even though I am starting my searches in Vegas I am very much open to investing out of the area. That is another part of the learning curve for me.

If you have any thoughts on that it would be very much appreciated.

Hello, I am Dennis and I’m new to purchasing real estate strictly for investment purposes. I recently moved to Las Vegas after spending 16 years in the Los Angeles area.

Long-term investor with a buy and hold strategy mindset. I have purchased multiple single-family homes in Texas, California, and now Nevada for my primary residences but have never purchased a home with the intention of developing a rental investment portfolio.

Currently looking for my first real estate adventure to establish my real estate investment portfolio. I am starting my search in the Las Vegas area but I am willing to invest anywhere in the country if the opportunity is right.
