Hello, Gregory, thank you for your service, from someone still serving in the Army. I used my first entitlement on my VA loan for a home that I am currently renting out. It's a phenomenal opportunity having the ability to use our VA loan entitlements. You may already know this, but due to your medical discharge, the required funding fee for a VA loan could be waived. Hello everyone, this is my first post and guarantee that it will not be my final post.  I am feel empowered and invigorated each time I listed to a BP podcast and scroll throughout the forums.  This is a phenomenal resource center with a plethora of helpful people.  Below is a break down of who I am, my background in real estate, and what I plan on contributing to the forum and other members.

BIO -

I am an active duty Army Soldier with 15 years of service.  I am currently stationed at Fort Benning, GA (Columbus, GA) and my wife is in the Air National Guard with 16 years of service, stationed at Robins Air Force Base (Warner Robins, GA).  My Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) in the Army is an Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager.  Currently, I am a Senior Communications Planner that forecasts and implements communication infrastructures in the preparation and execution phase of large scaled military training exercises.   I am humbled to have served five combat deployments to Afghanistan and three additional overseas deployments between Korea and Turkey.  

MY REAL ESTATE BACKGROUND -

I purchased my first single family home in 2006 through a No Income No Asset (NINA) Mortgage. My second property was also a single family home that I purchased with my VA Loan entitlement. My third home was a turn key town home investment property that my wife's realtor referred me to. I used a conventional 15% down mortgage for this property. Finally, I am currently under contract on a Homepath property located near Columbus, GA in Phenix City, AL. I am using a conventional LPMI (Lender Paid Mortgage Insurance) mortgage for this property. I will be changing duty locations and moving to Tampa, FL (MacDill Air Force Base) by the end of the year. My goal is to purchase my first multi-family home in and around the Tampa area when I arrive.

MY CONTRIBUTION -

I intend to contribute as much as I can, where I can, to help motivate others in taking their very first step towards Real Estate Investing.
