Are you trying to be verified on BiggerPockets? You have to do that through email, but I show your account as verified already.

If this isn't what you're trying to accomplish, send me a PM or contact our support team at

 Hi Mindy,

I'm trying to get that verified symbol next to my name.

Just like Joshua. I have taken ever step it asked me too, and reached out to the support team.

I can't find a way to add my business facebook page to my bp account so that I can get the verified symbol on my account. Every time I add my facebook to bp it automatically uses my personal fb account. Is there anyway I can choose which account it adds. Also I have my cell number, linkedin account, google + account, twitter, personal business website, and about 9 links to other sites I'm on, on my account. But it still doesn't say Verified...

Post: Working with an agent

@Jakub Bednarz He signed you on as a buyers agent. This is to protect the agent. So say if you wanted to see another home and you did so without your agent. Then they new agent that showed you the house helped you write up an offer, and it got accepted. All without your actual agent knowing.. The agent that signed you on is legally supposed to get the commission. So when a house sell, say the commission agreed on is 4%. Usually the listing agent takes 2% and then gives out the other 2% to the selling agent(your agent). Think about it, if you were the agent, and you did all this work and showed you clients all these houses, and then they end up buying a house he showed you through some other agent... it's not fare you did all that work and didn't get payed. So that agreement assures that the agent gets payed. It just means that hes your exclusive agent for the duration of the contract. If your unhappy with your agents services you can always request that the contract gets lifted. You would probably have to speak to the agents manager directly and explain why. Then you would be free to choose or not choose another agent.

To add... you can see any other home with another agent, or if another agent sends it to you. But if you make an offer it needs to be through the agent that signed you on.

@David Faulkner Thanks Dave, that was everything I was wondering. Defiantly have a better sense of direction now than I did before I posted this discussion.

Also,

Generally speaking, the chance of appreciation is higher in the low-cap rate area. The low cap areas were also more stable during the 2007-2011 meltdown."

So could this almost be two ways of investing? Say one person is more interested in passive income, while someone else could leading towards a slow/safe appreciation?

I guess the best investment would be a little bit of both..

You don't analyze properties...you analyze Markets.  Find the right Markets, and the properties will come.

 Now that was extremely helpful!! Thanks for the insight!

@Joe Villeneuve

Now say you want to invest in a different state(at least 12hrs away). Would you personally travel to that state, send someone on your behalf, or would you find a specialist in that area to do it for you?

The subject speaks for itself. I can't find a way to add my business facebook page to my bp account so that I can get the verified symbol on my account.
