I currently live in the Metro Detroit area. I've been in Round Rock, TX for the past week to surprise my wife's grandmother on her birthday. I'm considering relocating and investing here & am curious what cities are looking the most promising, real estate wise. Appreciate all input.

TIA

Luis:

I wholesale real estate throughout the midwest, and operate out of Michigan. I'm about three hours outside of Cleveland. I am from Sacramento, moved this way for the opportunity. I'm not an agent, but i can definitely help you find properties at a discount while viewing with an inspector's mind. If you'd like to discuss what type of properties you're interested in purchasing shoot me a message.

take care!

"The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today awarded $42.8 million in housing counseling grants to help approximately one million Americans make more informed housing choices, keep their current homes, or receive assistance to help them avoid foreclosure." (hud.gov 2020).

not sure the min/max you can get but the fact that there are counseling grants is true. hope this helps, i'd like to see about getting one as well if possible.

I am interested in hearing about experiences with this process as well. i have assigned contracts on properties in pre-foreclosure, but never a REO myself.

@Giovanni Cardenas I’ve always found them on Facebook. I join real estate groups in my market and then I post that I’m looking for investors looking to purchase in whatever zip codes. When they respond I add them and message them to figure out their criteria.

@Jason Graves can you be my dad? Or is it too late?

@Raul Ruiz you can find deals anywhere there's motivation. If you want cashflow I suggest looking into purchasing in the midwest. You can find multiple cash flowing properties for the price of one in most parts of SoCal. BRRRR would be excellent if you have a little cash to start with.

@Andrew Moran you can find motivation anywhere in the country. You may have to dig harder out there in SoCal but that’s totally up to you. There’s guys out there making six figure assignment fees. My first deal was done in Sacramento, CA. Property I got for $123k that was worth $230k fixed up. She was going through a nasty divorce and facing foreclosure due to her soon-to-be ex-husband pocketing the rent money instead of paying the mortgage. She had motivation to sell for low enough to just pay off the debt on the property & walk away. If you can find motivation then you can do deals out there.

Good luck!

@Andrew Moran bigger price tags on the homes mean bigger checks in your bank account. Buyers in LA are just that, buyers in LA! They have the money!
