Also I forgot to mention: Get an air purifier and air purifying plants for your room. Until you can see a professional who can determine what's causing the reaction you need your air as clean as possible. Try to stay out of the common areas and definately document as much as possible about your symptoms. Also in regards to the humidifier suggestion: If its hidden mold thats bothering you this could make the situation a lot worse.

I agree with all the advice you have been given. I also want to point out that just because you are the first one to experience symptoms doesn't mean there isn't a potential problem. I was at work and I smelled a chemical odor that I described as "burning plastic". No one else could smell it. As I got close to the vents I realized a book had fallen into the heating element and was off gassing. Thankfully it was not burning but who knows what would have happened if I hadn't followed my nose?

A tip I wanted to give you is to have a humidifier. The low humidity may be compounding whatever is causing an allergic reaction for you. Never silence your body with sprays and medicine; its trying to tell you something. You need to listen.

I agree with everything Will said. I do have a question though; is there a significant difference in the amount of insurance and property taxes for the commercial property vs the residential?

For example if the 4 unit has X amount per door, would the 8 unit have the same amount or would it be a much larger?

Arnie, what is the general makeup of the properties in that area? Are they SFH, small MFH, large MFH or a mixture? How desirable is the area? Basically what I am asking is: How easy will it be to rent out your units?

Sellers want quick and easy. A very long detailed letter most will not even read it.

I agree. You need to think about key words and phrases that will catch the sellers attention. Rob K already mentioned one in regards to buying the property "AS IS".

A population is easier to control when they lack critical thinking skills. Break down the family unit, make laziness and dependence a better option than working (it would equal the same $) and restrict their access to real food thus pumping them full of sugar, salt, msg, gmos and no vitamins/minerals. Pacify them with drugs, liquor, sex and shiny objects and they'll never think any further than tomorrow. And lets not talk about how much control rappers and skanks like Beyonce have over the community. What they say is gospel. Is ghetto mentality naturally occurring? Yes. Can it also be intensified due to certain conditions? YES. Remove those condtions and replace them with something else and it changes the formula and the end results.

Buying in warzones and ghettos is equivilent to buying in another country. You have to know the ends and outs of that particular area. As I said before they have their own subcultures and trying to impose your rules on them will get you nowhere fast. I dont advise anyone to buy in an area without understanding the psychology of the target market.

It all boils down to this. If you have the money to invest in a better area then do so. Some people though are big time gamblers and like to go all or nothing. Other people have a lower risk tolerance.

Societal shifts happen all the time. Look how quickly smoking went from being cool to being foolish. Look at the diet trends: Fats are bad, fats are good; carbs are bad, carbs are good. These things dont happen by chance. The fact is that we need poor people because they are willing to do jobs that other people wont for wages other people will laugh at. (No need to get into the more nefarious reasons for a having a poor segment of the population)
