Hello all. My Name is Edickson (Edison), I'm from new york city, now living in the bronx area. I can't remember how I came across BP, i think i found the videos on youtube first as I was looking at RE investing videos/tutorials and ended up here. I do not have any experience in RE. Well actually i did get my license probably 3years ago, tried renting out appartments for commission but that didnt go very well. Had a child and had to go to a different career path to make consistent money. My cousin hooked me up with an interview at a call center. A year an some months later was promoted to Quality assurance which is what i do now (You know when you call customer service and the voice on the phone says "this call may be recorded and monitor for quality assurance purposes"?, well I am the one doing the monitoring, Oooh the fun!!). Anyways, so at almost 2 years in the company and few months after promotion the company announces they are outsourcing the call center, but not my position (sh*t, do we have emojis on here? maybe not, well enter confused emoji here). so who am i going to monitor now? Not knowing what is going to happen here with my job, i started looking for something else, and will start my new job (and new career path) in less than 3 weeks. (I think this is getting too long).

So, i don't want to live with that uncertainty of not knowing what is going to happen with my paycheck tomorrow, the uncertainty of letting someone else dictate my and my family's livelihood. I want to have full control of my future and finances. I have always had big goals and always looked for ways to accomplish those goals, I have thought of some crazy business ideas, but never executed. Now i feel that RE is my way of financial freedom.  I have read a few books business books and self help books. I dont love reading, but i know I have to do it to learn and grow.

I should probably tell you my age too, i'm 33.

Looking to do buy and hold, Brrrr, more than likely in Yonkers. seems to be the less pricey part of nyc. I am now talking to banks and seen who can provide FHA 203k loans so i can house hack a 3-4 fam house.

WOW This was a long intro. IDK if you can tell but i was just typing whatever came to mind at the moment. Thank you for reading if you made it this far. If you have any questions about me or feel i left something out, just ask.

hello from new york city. new to the site and to RE investing. i have been reading on real state and trying to diggest as much info as i can. i have been looking at a foreclosed property that seems to be a steal at the listed price (i think will sell for much more). the agent told me it needs full gut. would it be a good idea for a complete noob to take such advance job?
