@Account Closed I realize I can search for an architect but I really need a designer. My understanding is there's a difference between the two, no?

I'm looking for a designer to help me with planning for a two story, 1,000 sq ft add-on (500 top/bottom) incorporating an ADU.
Does anyone know of any good designers for this project? I'm located in the East Bay, CA (Walnut Creek specifically) and looking to work with someone in the Bay Area. Thanks for any input!

@Sean Rooks congrats on the first brrrr, sounds like the learning will be well worth it to you!
You mentioned $45/sqft as a ROT for a heavy rehab. That seems low to me, can you elaborate further? I'll have to check out the book "Estimating Rehab Costs" as well. Thanks for any further input on this!

I assume it's probably one or the other but am just looking for clarification as I cant find this anywhere in web search or in the outlines provided state of california for ADU's/JADU's.

@Florian Sighe did you have to wait the 18 days between taking final exams on each course or is there a work around? Also if you fail a final exam on one of the three courses can you do the same thing you describe as on the quizzes. I'm currently enrolled and taking a similar approach as you explained, also based in CA. I registered with Real Estate Express for $114 for the three courses and that was the cheapest I found online.
