Quote from @Kelly O'Keefe:

Hey Weronika,

There is also a section of BiggerPockets that lists tax professionals here: https://www.biggerpockets.com/blog/tax-partners

As others have said, there is tons of help available on the forums as well.

That link is broken. Anyone know where to find the list of tax pros?

Quote from @Divya Santhanam:

Hi everyone,

My husband and I have been exploring the idea of expanding our real estate portfolio, which has primarily been in Southern California. We are interested in investing out of state, with the goal of generating consistent cash flow. While appreciation is always a nice bonus, our primary objective is to build a portfolio that also yields reliable income over the long term. With that in mind, we are particularly interested in exploring opportunities in Columbus, Ohio, and would love to connect with those who have firsthand experience investing there. If you're someone who has ventured into the Columbus market, I would love to chat and hear your thoughts on what your experience has been like. Looking forward to connecting with you.

 Welcome to Columbus!

I have been buying rental properties in Columbus, Ohio for the past 6 years. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

@Remington Lyman sends great emails regarding hot Columbus properties. I recommend him. Also recommend Isabelle Trepkoski (a BP member).

If you're looking for property management companies, narpm.org is a good place to look. It is a good place to find ethical and reliable PM companies.

No not a good place to start. SPEAKING with people that actually are doing work there is the way to go. So many just sit on the internet and " take its advice. " Reading books and watching tapes NOT reality This is why I see so many failings.

All the best

Yes, I agree that no one should base it solely on one suggestion, but it is one of the many tools an investor can use in search of a property manager.

Have a great day

Agreed @Jessica Larson! Thanks for your input.

Hi Chaz,

I've been meaning so post about this myself. I've been an accidental landlord for years (moving but not selling my home) and have recently closed on my first pure investment property (SFH in Detroit). I'm looking to buy another in 2024 and would love a mentor to bounce ideas/potential properties off of.

While some pros don't care about the arrangement being mutually beneficial, some do. I work as a copywriter for Fidelity Investments and can offer free proofreads and writing help on anything involving the written word (e-newsletters, blog posts, LinkedIn posts, emails, etc.).

Thank you for letting me piggyback on your post and I hope we can both find a mentor!

Hello,

I recently purchased my first rental property -- a 3/1 SFH in Detroit. These are the fees my property management company supplied in its contract. I'm curious if these seem reasonable/fair. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Post: Seller billing me (buyer) for lock change

Hello real estate professionals,

I purchased an investment property from someone who is now attempting to bill me $550 for a lock change after closing (he's the middleman/seller and we needed to let contractors in the property for quotes). Typically, keys are exchanged at closing -- isn't it the seller's responsibility to ensure the buyer can enter the property after closing? Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.
