Hello everyone, 

I'm about to buy my first house which has a two car garage built on the land. Would the garage increase the value of the house? I saw a similar size house in the same block which sold for the same price but doesn't have a garage. I am just trying to see if I'm getting a good deal. I appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance. 

Also the houses around are about the same age. 

Hi Gino. The roof might need some updating in the near future. Also the attic is not finished. The rest is in good shape.

Hey Gary, thanks for the information. I'm planning to buy and hold it. I'm going to live in one of the units and rent the other. My goal is to keep it, however just in case I need to sell it in the future, I wanted to know if the age of the property would be a drawback and affect the selling price.

I'm about to buy a property in New Jersey which has been maintained very well but it was built in 1900. Would anyone know if the age of the property could be an issue later on to sell the property at market value?
