I am a spreadsheet junkie. I work in finance for a supply chain company. I have fallen in love with true real estate investing over the past six months. 

I bought a home in Salt Lake City, UT five years ago and then moved overseas for work. I rented it out because I didn't have to sell it, and I have always wanted to own rental property for the financial freedom. It was a cash flowing property (just barely). I thought this was investing, but I have since learned I was naive in my approach. Two years ago I moved to Southern CA and have been taking my financial future more serious. CA cost of living will do that to a person.

One thing I have learned with my current house is that a good property manager is worth every penny. I used two different managers over the past 4 years, and my current one is outstanding. 

I am looking to expand my portfolio in next six months with small multi-family housing in Utah. I have a partner who has extensive experience with rehabs that I am starting with to find, and rehab a unit.
