I can't seem to find a forum for NWI investors, if you know of any groups investing from Lake County over to St. Joe county, let me know. I'm looking to build out a network of service providers.

Hi Y'all. I'll try to keep this brief:

  • Born in Oak Cliff, Raised in Cedar Hill (3x 5A State Champs!)
  • Moved to Chicago over a decade ago
  • Want to invest in D/FW, if cash flow can still be found
  • Have no problems in the outer areas of the Metroplex since this is where I grew up. And willing to explore anywhere within the triangle that is bordered by Paris, Waco and Wichita Falls.
  • Looking to build a network - agents, lenders, lawyers
  • Looking for triplexes and fourplexes
  • Not looking for BRRRR, at least not right now, but I fear this may be the only place there is value in the area

Would love to connect with anyone that might let me pick their brain and find out what's been happening over the past 10 years and how you project things to move forward in the future. Here are just a few questions that I have:

  • Has most of the growth been focused north of I-30, or are there areas south of the highway that are seeing similar trends?
  • No state income tax means higher property taxes, is there anything specific that should be considered in this regard, or just make a larger allocation to the cost budget
  • Other than this forum, where else are you networking with D/FW real estate investors?
  • Are the Dallas-area Torchys Tacos as good as the one's in Austin?
  • Have you started looking outside of D/FW and into other market due to the rising costs, or do you still find it comparatively affordable?
  • Did the Elvis Andrus trade make you as sad as it made me? End of an era.

I look forward to connecting with many of you.

Hey Yosef. First of all, congrats! I love Lawrence, and am familiar with this property. I'm just getting started, and am in a similar position in my life as you. I was wondering if you could expand on these networking/mentoring initiatives. Specifically, the "Mentorship/Masterming Groups" and there virtual meetups. Can you provide a little more detail on these? This is the first time I am coming across these terms. Thank you.
