I agree with the comments above. Each market will be different. Students want to live near the destination points. In my market, living near the beach is preferred. In other markets, students may want to live near the bars and restaurants.

Hi @Jacob Slomski

Welcome to BP! I am an investor in Fairfield, CT. I have met a few friends through BP that invest in Middletown, Meriden, New Britain, etc. I would love to connect.

1) If you originally obtained an FHA loan, I would recommend refinancing to a conventional loan if you can lower your interest rate and get rid of PMI. You can only have 1 FHA loan at a time.

3) No

4) You can obtain a conventional loan to house hack.

Hi @Matthew Amabile

A 203k streamline is when repairs are under ~$31k. You do not need a HUD consultant. The $ for the repairs is distributed half at closing and half when the work is complete. When the work is complete, the inspector will come out, confirm all is well and then pay the contractor the second half of the funds. The minimum amount of work is $5,000.

Purchase an AirBnB rental that I enjoy traveling too as well! Does anyone have some cool spots to look into?
