Hi Rocky, there appeared to be a couple of management companies in Aberdeen. For a larger unit building they charge 10 percent. I did not acquire the building I was interested in so I have not moved forward on this. Good luck!

Hello All,

I am interested in having a multi-family in Aberdeen. Can someone share their experience with management companies? Who have you had good experience with? What is the going rate?

Thanks ahead of time!

George

Thanks, great information.

I am buying a duplex with two existing tenants. One side is well under market value and I intend to raise the rent. Just curious how others handle this situation. Kick them out, clean, paint and offer it at new market rate, work out a gradual increase over time to keep the tenant (possibly...) or what?

Thanks,

George

I am already also, refinancing to pull half the equity out for my ex-wife... So I was considering pulling an EXTRA 10K but now will rely on the HELOC for security until I can build up more cash.

Thanks.

Thank you Corby. I have excellent credit and a HELOC in place. I like your ides of not paying interest just to feel comfortable. Think I will start out with not much cash in the bank and build up a prudent reserve.

I have had an offer excepted on a duplex that is roughly $600 cash positive a month. I just barely have enough cash for the down payment and the purchasing expenses. At the same time I am refinancing my main residence.  I am considering taking an extra $10,000 of equity out of my home so I do not have to drain my savings to make the duplex purchase. What do people think of this idea? I realize over 30 years it would cost me $20,000 to borrow the 10K but it would make the purchase possible today. Thank you in advance for your help, George

Thank you all!
