Thanks @David Nguyen ! Still a lot to learn, but yes, at least I'm not starting from scratch!

Hello BP community!

I got turned on to Bigger Pockets by a friend of mine who invests in Virginia. So far, I am overwhelmed with the networking opportunities on this site!

Currently, I am a video production professional based in Marietta, GA, right outside of ATL. Recently, I have done video / photography work for a few realtors and contractors in the area. These jobs have helped to further my interest in real estate!

Before I started freelancing full time, I was a Project Manager for a retail solutions company in Atlanta. The majority of the projects I managed were cosmetic and/or rehab jobs at big retail outlets (Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Best Buy, etc). In addition, I occasionally coordinated new construction and total renovation projects.

In other words, I know how to talk to a contractor!

I am very much looking forward to getting involved in the community. My short term goals are to educate myself as much as possible on the various disciplines within RE investing. In the long term, I would like to use my project management skills to develop a portfolio that I can eventually step away from!

As I begin to dig through the forums, podcast, and blog posts...I must say - THANK YOU to each of you who take the time to contribute to this community. I cannot imagine a better resource for a new investor!

Best,

Greg Moyer

I am a new investor and I will try my best to make it to this event! Thanks for setting it up!
