I'm new to REI so I apologize if this is bad etiquette, but I just went through the pre-approval process as it relates to mortgages. I now plan on reaching out to realtors that are investor-savvy for help in finding some potential rental properties. Is it a fair question to ask them for contact information or reviews from previous real estate investors they've helped?

Thanks for the response. I was more interested to see if there was a calculation to come up with some rough approximation, on max purchase price.

I graduated school last May and want to dip my toes into REI by "house-hacking" (in Cleveland). Per some other contributors recommendations, I'm in the process of trying to get pre-approved for an FHA loan, but some of the lenders have asked me for property info, such as Purchase Price and County/State information. Before I answer these questions, I would like to hear how everyone determines how much they can spend on a house, so that I can narrow down my universe.

Hi everybody! My name is Griffin and I'm from Pittsburgh, but moved to Cleveland after graduating school and getting a job here last June. I've listened to many of the BP Podcasts and hung around the forums silently for a couple of weeks to try to become more familiar with all of the terminology, but now I'd like to take some action towards actually getting started on this journey. I'd love to link up with anyone who is from/familiar with the Cleveland/Pittsburgh areas.
(And for what it's worth, I'm very interested in the concept of house hacking for my first experience in Real Estate Investing, but not too sure on how to actually get the ball rolling.)
