I'm under contract now with a home that looks promising as a STR in a more up and coming area of East Tampa.

We ran into appraisal issues as it completely under appraised, but myself and my realtor completely disagree with the appraisal that undervalued the home by $68k…

We tried contesting the appraisal but no luck, so we requested an extension, switched lenders and am awaiting a new appraisal. Fingers crossed the deal goes through!

Hello Everyone!

I am currently exploring the Tampa Bay markets, specifically looking at the STR model.

I'll be visiting Tampa in the very near future to get an understanding of the 'lay of the land.'

Any recommendations on WHERE to check out specifically? 

What I should be on the lookout for when exploring a new market?

I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a vacation rental in the south Florida markets, specifically Tampa and Miami.

Any recommendations on agents who have dealt with STRs in the Tampa area?

Also, for investors currently in the Tampa markets, how is the STR market doing in your experience

I'm currently budgeting for a PP of $400k and under, but was pre approved for more so there is some wiggle room for the right deal.

If choosing to invest in southeast Florida, I would love to know how the condo STR's have been for the fellow investor also?
