Guys, I’m trying to track down one of the guests I heard on the Real Estate Rookie podcast a couple of months ago. He was a realtor based in the Midwest (I think the greater Chicago area) and was talking about off vs. on market deals and the importance of choosing equity over cash flow.

I’m interested in connecting with him, but forgot to save the episode.

Anyone know who this is?

Anyone recommend a good dishwasher that will last long-term for rental property?

Hi BPers,

I am on the verge of starting my RE investment journey, but completely stuck on which market to go for. (I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so investing locally is not an option financially for me).

I've narrowed the options down to:

  • San Antonio
  • Lincoln
  • Cleveland

My simple criteria was to go for 2nd/3rd largest cities (that have growing populations) in investor friendly states.

I would like to start with 3/2 SFH OR small MFHs (ideally duplex) while I gain my REI muscles. My budget is 200k.

Thoughts and comments welcome!

@Nick Florio, where in Florida? I am in the same position as @Danica MoellerNewbie, living in CA, looking for my first OOS BRRR property as CA is too expensive for me. I don't intend to take on a large project, just something small that needs cosmetic touches. I'd ideally like to go to the midwest due to favorable prices, but I don't know which markets (towns) to look at. I find people talk quite generally here.

Hi BPers,

My husband and I are first timers looking to buy and hold a SFH property (3b, 2ba) in Austin or surrounding neighborhoods. The plan is to hold for at least 10+ years. A little cash flow would be great, but we're more focused on appreciation. Budget is $450k. We're being guided towards Hutto, Leander or Taylor.

Any suggestions?
