I looked into Google voice, but it was telling me I had to subscribe to Google workspace but maybe that's because I said it was for a business. I will see if personal is an option. I appreciate all of the great input!

I have another non-real estate business. Having a virtual number has been necessary to allow me to scale and to take some time off occasionally. I am able to route the calls to an employee. I also get a good number of spam phone calls. With a virtual number, I will always know the call is related to my STR or my other business because the business number pops up when a call comes in. I suppose I could always wait and get a number when and if I hire a VA but they are helpful and that is the reason I am looking into them. Also, if I am traveling out of the country, they are not dependent on my cell plan, as long as I have wifi I can send and receive calls with a virtual number from anywhere in the world.

I was looking into a virtual number such as from RingCentral so that I wouldn't have to use my personal cell in any guest communications, but I also noted that many of the PMS such as OwnerRez and Lodgify offer SMS messaging. Do any of you have virtual numbers or do you find that your PMS software or messaging through Airbnb and other booking platforms are able to fulfill you communication needs while keeping your personal cell information private? 

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Luckily, I found out I have until 3/30 to find coverage (I wondered why my regular insurance agent wasn't rushing to get me new quotes). I got a quote from Proper and have pursued quotes from several other recommendations thanks to you all!  I should have a couple of options by the end of this week.

Thank you everyone!  Yes, got a quote from Proper. Pretty expensive but it would cover wind/hurricanes. I will see if I can get a quote from Foremost today!
