Hi all,

I just joined the Bigger Pockets forums and am new to investing. I have one investment property in OK and one in India. Looking to invest in areas for long term cashflow. I am looking for passive investments since I have a full time job which is demanding.

Looking to connect with other forum members and grow my network.

Welcome to BP! How is investing in India different the US property you have? Curious what the real estate is like over there!

In India, the growth is primarily from appreciation. Rents are low compared to the purchase value. Also, you need to be very careful and go through known networks (preferably) to avoid illegal paperwork. There are thousands of cases where the same property is sold to multiple people, and you get stuck in legal battles for a long time. If you go through known networks though, and choose the right location, the appreciation could far outpace US appreciation since development is happening at a much faster rate in India.

Wow that sounds potentially disastrous! How do you find your trusted network there?

I actually grew up there, so its my father's network of friends that I leverage.
