I'll be attending a REIClub meeting tomorrow evening. I saw two signs that said "cash for your house" and "we buy houses". Would these two organizations be possible investors that I could be working with and what would be the best way to approach them?

I purchased the book on flipping houses and one of the first things it started talking about is rehabbing. That's a little down the road for me. What I would like to do is to flip a few contracts, make some money and get out of the financial whole I'm in now and then rehab and flip. Can anyone give me a advice on where to start at flipping contracts? I have no money to put down and my credit is not that good. I'm going to an REI club meeting Wednesday and hopefully I can also get some good information there as well.

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome to this community. I hope that everyone that sent me a message gets to see this post. Again, thanks for such a warm welcome, I'll be asking plenty of questions and hopefully get to a point where I can provide some valuable tips also. Blessings!

Hello everyone, My name is Lawrence Robertson and I am a self employed computer consultant and reading tutor for kids. After I got laid off from my job at the Department of Energy, I decided to work for myself. It didn't seem probable that at age 57 I would work for another 30 years and retire. Currently, I don't have a retirement package in place, and social security is no security at all. My goal now is to start making some real money in real estate as I tried it before and had one good deal and one bad deal. I have been focused on some other things in the past few years, but feel that now is the time to really start to make something happen to get me out of debt and have a positive income. While researching the internet looking for a means to get started finding investors and ways to start flipping houses, I came upon Bigger Pockets, and felt that this was as good a start as any. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and conversations about making money in real estate. Blessings to everyone!!!
