Antoine,
That makes sense. however, isn't the idea behind house-hacking that you pay much less or possibly break even with the right house to hack? Because if that is really the case, then why would the market being different change that?
I am just a bit confused.

Hello BP community,
I am wanting to start getting in to real estate. I have been listening to podcasts, reading books, browsing forums, watching YouTube videos, looking at listing and running numbers. I don’t want to do anything without doing the proper research first. However, from what I can gather from most if not all of those sources, it seems that very few people have tried home-hacking while a student in college (I will be a sophomore this fall). Does anyone have any experience trying home-hacking as a student? Or if not, do you have tips in general that could help?

Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents here:
I am 19, and going to be a sophomore in college next fall. To top that off, the market I am in does not have duplexes (the only property I would invest in so I could home-hack) for less than $300,000 (That would probably be a dump).
That is the main thing holding me back right now.

Hello everyone!
I am 19, and going into my sophomore year in college. I am also wanting to begin investing in real estate. The markets around where I live are high in price and rising (doubled in the past 5 years in many nearby places from what I can see), and I want to get in as soon as possible. Does anyone have any advice for me as far as being a student while investing goes? My plan right now is to look for a duplex with which I would rent out one side and live in the other, but any advice that you have for me is appreciated. Thanks!!

Hello everyone!
I am 19 (on the younger side, I know) and will be going to school in Boulder in the fall. I am looking at real estate (duplexes) around the area, and was just curious if anyone here did the same, and could maybe inform me about the market / give me some inside information that I cannot easily find out without asking someone.
Just for some clarification, I do not intend on buying anything in the near future, but I would like to be able to analyze the market and know what the properties near me should be listed as so that in the future I can jump on something if the opportunity arises. Just want to get some feedback from people in the same area and see what you guys think.
Thanks for reading guys!
