Hey Kyle!

My name is Jaime, and I have found myself in a very similar situation as you. Just graduated from WVU, and after finding some mediocre jobs in the middle of a world wide pandemic, I have realized I am meant to work for myself. Working for myself will award me the ability to make as much money as possible, it is entirely up to me. Rather than working for an hourly wage, for a company who sees me as just a number.

I am also new to REI, but have been reading a lot and spending much time on DeeperPockets (love this place). We should connect and bounce some ideas and knowledge off of each other, doesn't hurt to gain some allies/friends to help in such a new journey. Good luck my man!!

@Kristos Sfinas @Andrew Baughman @Evan Miles Whats up guys? I unfortunately have to work my day job this Thursday/Friday/Saturday. I am off this Sunday, and will be off next weekend as well. If you guys end up meeting this weekend while I am unavailable, I will catch you guys next time! Annies does sound like a good idea though, I will definitely be there if I we decide on a day I am off. Let me know what you guys think

@Andrew Baughman @Evan Miles Let’s get some coffee sometime soon, the only problem is the Starbucks and places like that are closed to indoor seating as far as I know. May have to get together at a local breakfast place, maybe this weekend or next? And hey, I’m not afraid of work! Wouldn’t mind seeing a property of yours and the process in person, I’d be happy to help!

Yeah we should start our own... I am very new to REI and would definitely benefit from talking with some local investors or people similar to me who are just entering the business. We could grab coffee or a beer?

Hello! I see that I am a few years late to the party, and you all may not even be located in the Morgantown area anymore, but I figured I would reach out! I am new to REI, and plan to buy my first property here within the next few months. I just relocated to Morgantown with my fiancé, but I am not new to the are as I graduated from WVU in May of 2020.

If anyone on this thread is still active, let me know! I would be very interested in a local REI meetup!

Hey Chandler! I am in almost the same position as you, I graduated from WVU in May and I have recently started exploring the world of real estate investing. I have always had a strong interest for real estate, and have recently decided to stop procrastinating my entry into real estate investing. I have little experience with real estate, but I did purchase my first home with my fiancé back in October, which gave me my first experience with the industry.

I can't offer much advice as of yet, but I can recommend a great book. "The Book on Real Estate Investing" by Brandon Turner has been HUGE in my focus, understanding, and my determination to succeed in this daunting industry.

Also, being in a similar situation, please don't hesitate to reach out to talk about any ideas or concepts you may come across. I feel that bouncing ideas off of friends and my fiancé usually helps (even though she doesn't always understand what I am talking about lol). Good luck!

I am currently reading "The Book on Rental Property Investing" by @Brandon Turner. Its amazing so far, and definitely helps with both mindset and real estate! Haven't finished yet, but I highly recommend.

Post: Question on investment options

Thank you all for the responses, they gave me a lot to think about! I am thoroughly excited to explore each response given to me, and the options you all have presented. I appreciate your time.

Another quick question, have any of you ever invested into real estate in a college town? I am particularly interested in investing in a multifamily home, and renting to college students. I would carefully choose which students to rent to, because being a recent college grad myself I have seen what students can do at house parties. Any advice or experience that can be shared on investing in a college town? I am about 10 min from West Virginia University!

Hello, I am new to BiggerPockets and the world of real estate investing. I am not even sure if I will receive any responses to this, but I figured why not put a question out there to get some opinions that I may be able to research more and expand my knowledge? I am currently reading a few books, and just started exploring the BiggerPockets forums and tools the site has to offer.

Let me lay some background for my question. I have just graduated college, bought my first house with my fiance, and work a basic 9-5 during a world wide pandemic. I know I will enter the industry of real estate investing, I just want to gather enough knowledge and the right connections and networking before I do.

My question is, if you were in my situation, with 25-30k ready to invest in my first property, where would you begin? This is a broad question, and in no way am I looking to just listen to any response I am given, I am just curious of ideas and opinions. Maybe your response will be driven by some experience or knowledge I do not have, that will help me learn! Thank you for reading, and any response or opinion you may have for me.
