update,
so I finally got a hold of managing broker, talked to her a couple times+few voice mails. She wanted some type of formal cancellation letter from either my attorney or agent. I contacted my attorney immediately was told that he faxed it to KW office. I call the managing broker next morning, she says she never got it.
So I'm in the middle just going back and forth between the broker and my attorney.
First of all, it is very disappointing that how little my attorney can help me. You would figure they are going to do something drastic but that hasn't happened.
I also filed a complaint through Illinois Department of Financial & Professional online. No response yet.
EM is not a huge amount but significant enough for me, I thought about contacting different attorney for this matter but with their fees being so high, I'll probably come out upside down.
What are your thoughts?

Thank you for the input guys. I did email the managing broker, she did not respond. This was in Illinois, my attorney first told filing something though the state against property(I understand that he means something like lien.) I talked him again and since it's not the seller who's not returning my money, we couldn't go that route and suggested filing a complaint through Illinois Department of Financial & Professional. I just did so and will update here if I hear anything back.
Also he shows licensed as broker, did contact his managing broker at KW, no response so far, it's been 2 weeks since my email.
ps. this is very time consuming and I am getting frustrated. Any other quicker way to get my money back guys?

That's what I hear Joel, usually a week.
I never had this problem before and since it was out of state, all I could do is call my attorney to ask if he heard anything and just wait. I just emailed "the leader" from his office's website, thinking it's probably head broker. I'll keep it updated if I hear anything back.

no response at all. In Illinois, you have to have attorney involved.
They do all the communication. I have not talked to the branch broker, not sure if there is one.
My attorney sent him a couple of letter regarding my earnest money. He said he's not getting any response.

due diligence time period, sent him a letter.
It's been more than 2 months and no response at all!
He is one of KW realty, listed as broker.

Thank you so much. After searching the state commission web site, it says under his profession, salesperson.
I'm assuming that means he is an agent, not a broker?

Thank you for the replies Chalres.
As someone mentioned above, I contacted his boss about the situation and nothing. It's been good 3-4 days since I sent him an email.
Somewhat still confused if my agent is broker or just an agent.
What's the difference? Is it possible that he is A BROKER too?

Thanks guys! As a sellers agent, it's pretty much done deal with only few weeks left until closing date.
As a buyers agent, so I can just tell him bye and find someone else then? Even I'm trying to buy one of the properties he showed me?
Little off topic, what should I expect or prepare for closing date?
I know title company handles a lot of stuff for me but still, any advice guys?

Hello, thanks for the replies!
So let's clear few things up here.
-Yes, as a sellers agent, I owe him the commission since it's under contract+only few weeks left until closing.
-Just so I know for the future, can I back out anytime for any reason if I decide not to sell my property for any reason?
-Yes, I don't want to work with this guy anymore. Problem is one of the properties he showed me, I'm very interested. He also told me to make an offer for it, which I did but didn't get a response from the seller. So if I were to buy that property he showed me and also helped me making an written offer, can I hire someone else from different broker?
-One more thing, the property I'm interested in? The sellers agent works for same broker as mine!!
What are my options here? Best thing to do?
Thanks again.
