Hey, @Brandon Kaplan. I made the Manhattan --> Greenwich move a few years ago. You're going to be very happy here.

@Scott Hollister hosts a Central CT meet up and @Mat O'Grady hosts one for SE CT. I believe there's on tonight, actually. There are really good markets all over the state, depending on what you're investment strategy is.

Hi, @Anne Cullen. I grew up in Manchester. There is quite a bit of MFR stock and the prices are approachable. As a house-hack, you might be able to live rent free with a fourplex, but that may not be easy. Don't get hung up on that.

What part of the state, @Alexander Valerio? Small state, lots of markets and they're all unique. Condo might be doable, with the normal caveats. Coops are very rare in CT. I happen to live in one in Greenwich. There are very tight rules against renting. You can only rent for 2 years and approval is only granted after the unit has been on the market for at least a year without selling.

Hi @Jeff Norton. When I lived in NYC, Ranger Management managed our building. I think they are worth speaking to. Ask for Johnathon: 201-363-1448

@Paul Stansel, I grew up in Manchester and know the area pretty well. There are properties in and around Storrs, but it's really hit or miss, since it's so rural. I have a bunch of family in Tolland. You're unlikely to find suitable investment properties there since home prices are relatively high and I believe the town has a 1-acre deed restriction. MFR are very rare. Willimantic has quite a bit of stock, but, well it's Willimantic.

@Charles Han, I always recommend starting with the local banks and credit unions. CUs especially tend to have very attractive terms. Check out the links to see all those licensed in CT.

Hi @Danielle Campo, you came to the right place. @Adam Cherko was running a great one, not sure of the current status, but he really knows his stuff.

I'm in Greenwich, feel free to reach out if you want to chat.

Typically, the buyer pays the closing attorney's fees, @Greg Meyer. If he is using his own lawyer (to review the contracts, for example) that's on him.

I think they're still doing them on Zoom, @Ryan Morrissey. That's how I attend, other than one pre-COVID. I'm almost as far out as you are.
