I'm a new Investor in my early 60's, deciding which niche of the market to jump in to. I'm open to about anything right now, but being as I don't have the luxury of decades to grow a business, what can I do to get myself established quickly?

Hello James,

@James Dainard Thanks for the welcome and invite to the Investor 101 class. Garret from your office reached out to me, so we'll schedule a time for the class. Thanks, and looking forward to meeting the group.

Hey Brian,
Thanks for connecting, and thanks for the heads up about the rule changes possible for Seattle and the Washington RLTA. I've heard through the grapevine that Seattle's rent rules can be hard on Landlords, so hat's off to you. I appreciate your perspective on possible rent control. After our analysis we raised the rent by 8% recently with our new tenants, and they were happy to pay it. Now that we have these great resources here at BP we'll re-visit that again. Your strategy looks like a sound one, and very similar to what we're envisioning. Thanks for sharing, will stay in touch.

@Brian Hughes

Justin, thanks for checking in. The links you included look very useful, I'll be using those! Your 401K for self-employed is a great thing, I'll definitely be taking a look at that..

Hello Everyone,

My name is Jeff Bongard, currently living in the Seattle area, and working a 9-5 in aviation. I’m a newbie to real estate investing, and very anxious to learn and get my feet wet as a serious real estate Investor and to leave my 9-5 job in the dust. After I got married last year we rented out my wife’s Townhouse and she moved in with me. During that rental process, we ran across Bigger Pockets® as we prepared to become Landlords. I’ve spent the past few weeks devouring more information on real estate investing, and now I’m ready to put more skin in the game and seriously expand our investments in real estate. I’m interested in exploring wholesale, buy and hold, and flipping in the Seattle area right now, with cash flow as end result.
