Thanks for all of your support and suggestions. My plan is to BRRRR, over time I want to roll my capital and value add forward into a small portfolio of properties. At first, I am looking for a city that I want to work in and then find a first property to learn the ropes and go from there. I am looking forward to the project, but also recognize the challenges of going to and working in a new city at a distance from home. I'll definitely check out the groups and meetups, I always enjoy meeting up with new people.

I'm planning a trip to Cincinnati, Louisville, and Pittsburgh in late October to explore these cities and scout out potential investment properties. I’m a builder/carpenter from Northern California, I've been working construction for a while and am now excited to dive into real estate investing. My goal is to build a small rental portfolio, focusing on small multi-family properties that need some rehab work.
