I am new to the Tacoma area and am looking to buy a single family home.  I would love to speak with a local property manager in order to get a feel for the rental market and to look for someone to manage the property.  Does anyone have any recommendations in the area?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to bigger pockets!  I have had decent luck in Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho.  There are lots of college students in the area which has been my focus.

I have a few properties in Seattle's Eastside.  It is getting expensive!  My partner and I are beginning to look in Pierce and Thurston counties (although she just sent me a couple of properties still on the Eastside).  There are some interesting multi-families in the Tacoma area and I believe that the area is going to continue appreciate in value and rent.

@Jarvis Smith

Welcome to BP.  I am in the Snoqualmie Valley and there are some auction properties that look very attractive.  Flipping really isn't my strategy but I believe that there are still deals to be had.

I think that, in lieu of shopping at various banks, a trusted mortgage broker is key.  They can do the shopping for you.  I have met some brokers who were not very helpful, but the professional that I've used for my last two transactions is wonderful.  She has been able to find financing when individual banks would not help.  A good broker is also able to come up with options that I may have not necessarily considered.

All,

I found this site through the BP podcasts which I love.  I am fairly new to real-estate investing and currently have two houses in the North Bend, WA area and a duplex in Moscow, ID.  My next hurdle is saving up eoungh capital to purchase another property (hopefully in the Puget Sound area), and am currently in a holding pattern while I do that.

Hello,

John
