Do not quote me on this, but if you do decide to buy a house and rent to her and friends, if you have 529 for her, you can use that money for rent to pay yourself.

If you just went through a refi 2 years ago, would you go for another one to go from 3.5% to 3?   My guess about 3k of closing costs.  Why or why not

Thinking about paying down some of my 3.6% mortgage on my personal residence in form of a recast.

Anyone ever do this before?  What are some pros and cons or things to think about?

Since its me paying the mortgage and not someone else, makes me think lower payments would be beneficial.

Let me know your thoughts and thanks.  I also view PR as a beneficial liability.

Who's side are you on. Landlords can't do this or that...

1st year, 1st semester of Engineering school we learned that, aerodynamically the Bumble Bee can't fly BUT they don't know it, they just fly!

Landlords, meet with your Tenants and get that Rent, quit shooting yourself in the foot!

What are you talking about?

last bump i promise.

any thoughts?

2 part question.

Have you (or would you) recast your personal mortgage?  Were you happy you did?  What didnt you like about it?

If you did, do you view your PR as an asset or liability?

Just want to run some mental exercises if I want to or not.

Thanks for any thoughts provided
