I have been fortunate to have 2 great careers. I have worked in the food industry for 25 years as well as a real estate investor for 20 years.

I see many people asking for advice, wanting to know what they need to do to be successful.

One of the single biggest things you can do is so simple, costs almost nothing, and can separate you from the vast majority of people you are competing against. Here it is - DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO!

Kind of anti climactic, huh? I hate to break it to you, but the path to success is not hard to figure out.

There is no secret formula to "get rich quick". What's wrong with getting rich slow? Most people don't get rich at all. 25 years are going to pass no matter what you do. Wouldn't you rather get through those 25 years by making yourself a better person, a better professional, a better investor? That happens through consistency, perseverance, and following through. Very high on this list is simply doing what you say you are going to do. Stop looking for the shortcut - it doesn't exist. Every overnight success you was at least 10 years in the making.

When you make plans to meet someone at X time - show up at X time! When you tell someone you will call them back - call them back! When you say you are going to spend X hours a week building your business - spend the X hours a week! If things change, clearly communicate why you need to change your plans, and then follow through with the new plans!

I cannot tell you the number of times I deal with tenants, lenders, contractors, people of all walks of life, who make plans and then do not follow through and execute on those plans. I don't let it bother me, as I have no control over them or their choices, but I never listen to them whine and complain why they can't get ahead, why their life isn't the way they want it to be, why they aren't happy. They aren't happy because they know they are not doing everything they can to make themselves better. Even though it's hard work, it is much more gratifying than binge watching series on Netflix, excessively playing video games, or constantly making excuses why you can't do what you said you were going to do.

There it is - one of the major not so secret secrets to success. When you say you are going to do something - do it! Keep your word! Follow through! I guarantee you will immediately start seeing more success once you make this your regular habit. Good luck!

Hi Clark - I own in those areas but I live in Cleveland. If you don't go street by street, you can wind up with a mess. @Matt Motil is 100% correct.

Feel free to call me and we can chat about what your goals are.

Welcome!

I use Ed Kasputis for my RE business. Google Kasputis Law. They are in Middleburg Heights, OH. If he doesn't do foreclosures his office can direct you to someone who does. He is great to work with.
