Yeah for Cali thats normal lol, in my opinion it does not even make sense to buy that, or in the state generally, but that depends on your goals and needs

 i agree with that

welcome bro! California is such a tough market bro, I would suggest investing out of state!

What makes it a bad market? just curious

not a landlord friendly state, high taxes, high property prices, saturated market.

Quote from @Jonathan Cooper:

it all depends on your goals, what do you want real estate to bring to your life? How much time can you devote to it? Personally, the best type of property to invest in is multifamily, because I want cashflow, easy management, keep them as LTRs and etc, for you it might differ

that pretty much sums it up, there are different ways where you can make money with real estate, explore and pick what works for you

you might want to consider LTR, STR requires having more time to commit and since you are travelling a lot it will be hard to manage, but with LTR not really

Go for LTR, and build a solid portfolio of them, STR can be unpredictable, you might not have the occupancy rate you expect...

Sell the prop , it’s not for you

Good luck

that can work too, stack the money aside and learn how to actually purchase, manage and scale a portfolio
