I like the aggressive pay off strategy, but why not just keep a 30 year loan and toss in some extra $ each month toward the principle? That way you can pay off quickly and still have the flexibility of a lower payment in the event that your plans change or you come upon harder times when the cash flow would be helpful.

I agree with all of the above. I grew up in Cleveland and now invest there long distance from California. I would tread lightly in Glenville. If you don't have a very experienced property manager who specifically deals with that area, I would pass. There are plenty of affordable properties in less risky areas of town.

Cleveland taxes are generally 2.7 - 4.3% of the retail value and vary greatly between suburbs. clevelandhousehunt.com has a list of all the tax rates in the area.

Cleveland area taxes generally vary between 1.8 to 4.3% of retail value and usually change after a purchase. I would guess that you probably purchased your property at a much cheaper price point than the previous owner. Check out clevelandhousehunt.com for a list of all the tax rates in the Cleveland area.

I am from Cleveland and currently have four rental properties there. East Cleveland is considered a D/F area. I would not recommend that area to Out of town investors. The greater east side area of Cleveland does have some nice areas though.
