@Julian Maso hmm... welcome! I do believe in climate change in real estate, and that the climate of real estate is changing from overcast big cities to move toward the middle of America. Be VERY careful of the idea of storing up cash for a big purchase. Everyone thinking about the implications of the extreme choices of our country knows that inflation would usually be taking effect now and into the near future. Your money will possibly safer in RE than in a bank, but do pay attention to LOCATION and implications of trends in the nation because the sun is shining a little extra in some areas and a little less in others right now:)

@Kevin Rea well since you’re concerned about the warming, I’d be looking as far north as possible, maybe even Canada or upper Russia. Last I heard it was global cooling when the cold records were shattered in the North East a couple years ago. If you’re making your decision based largely on climate, I would guess to look at the actual temperatures of the last 10 years and base on that. Trying to predict the weather is a tough business.

@Elijah Householder hmmm.. It seems the Riverside county law enforcement is going to create a lot more confidence in the area. The more conservative and right wing, the more it’s in demand right now. Consider some more spots just a little South of you.

@Jacob Powall, well if it’s not broke, don’t fix it if you’re trying to save money. Things to add value would be, putting in LVP flooring, new baseboards, paint, upgrade the outlets to decora, change fixtures such as faucets, or ceiling fans. These are all pretty small projects. If you need to replace roofs, plaster, supply and drain plumbing or electrical panels, look out.. it will take longer than usually expected.

I’m trying to finish a remodel right now, and I’m going from phase to phase, and I find myself with all these material casualties from phase to phase. Stuff happens and materials get messed up, left out too long. I find myself suffering casualties the average person wouldn’t have to deal with, even material purchases that don’t fit, then get buried in a closet and not returned in time. I have a garage full of losses, or future uses, but sometimes that I need to throw away too. Do any of you find the casualty thing being a common part of the war... I mean business and how does this effect you?
Does this happen more as you go to scale, even in finances, or properties that you own?
Do you learn to embrace the process of cutting losses, and not get distracted from the progress??

@Peter T. Well it’s not perfect, and I thought about leaving because of how crazy things are right now, it’s hard for people not to get really triggered by political or civil questions. I ran into a snag on owner financing and fsbo stuff the other day and was met with some quick, great answers, and it’s stuff like that, that makes it worth sticking it out with this forum. There’s some really smart experienced people on here and the chance to run into them and get some answers is PRICELESS, so thank you BP and i love you all! I’d love to help anyone I can as long as I’m on here, and I’ve seen the same from others.

@Adam M. Ok, that’s kind of what I think. I’ve been betting every offer, I did all the photos and listing, so I’d basically pass them to the realtor to sign a paper and then go through the title company, and probably end up holding everyone’s hand during the process (or having my hand held!)
