@Ben Staples, the venting requirement is different as the newer boilers will need a fresh air intake as well as the exhaust.  I have seen a number of these run in small diameter piping so they are much easier to contend with compared with older exhaust lines that typically vent through the flue.  hope this helps.

Ben, As you are in it for the long haul, it might make sense to spend the little bit of extra money now. Over time the efficiency gained from having a condensing boiler will likely save you cash over the traditional style. Up front costs are an important consideration, but if you can afford it it should save you money later. Also keep in mind what is in place now as the venting requirements are different for a high efficiency boiler compared to traditional. Just an FYI just be careful with this financing if it's through Massave, I have found that there are smaller utility companies in massachusetts that don't pay into the program and you would not be able to qualify unless you are with someone like n'grid or Eversource. Good luck!

As someone who is directly experiencing this now, I feel that I want to get a good feel for what niche I want to jump into and also do this with the proper plan and protections in place (set up as a business). Thanks for posting this. I'll look forward to the other responses.

as a new interested potential investor, I am wondering if there are any recommendations for how to initially structure my business. I have spoken with my financial planner and he mentioned and recommended setting up as a DBA initially and then transitioning down the road when needed. What does your voice of experience recommend? Also, are there any recommendations for attorney's that could assist with this in the metro-west area? Thanks in advance

Good day all, My name is Jon Roland and I am pursuing a desire to ultimately own rental properties. I have been working for major companies for my career so far doing engineering design, equipment and property maintenance, assessments, repairs, contract management, construction management and much more. I have a desire to get started but not large amounts of capital at my disposal I have a few questions; 1) is there a market for people to be a bird dog for property investors in my market area (near Boston) 2) I've heard a real estate license is recommended but I'm not sure if it's required for this type of business structure. 3) does anyone have recommendations for business plan software to get started? Thanks to all for your input
