I have been reaching out to realtors in my area requesting opportunities to work for them as an assistant.  I don't have investment or real estate experience, but I have 6 years of office administrative experience.  I haven't heard back from anybody and am wondering if I'm going about it wrong.  So BP, I would like to know your best advice on how I can get a realtor to agree to let me be their assistant/understudy. Thanks for all the help everybody!

@Frank Garcia Welcome to BP! My wife and I just moved out here to Tacoma this past September.  We're also looking for investors to connect with in this area.  We have similar goals so don't hesitate to contact me - I'm excited to work with you and gain experience.  Take care

Hey Greg,

I'm rather new on BP as well. I find the community very informative and supporting. Although I'll probably end up in Washington state, DC is also a possible relocation for me. I'd like to stay connected and see how the market is for you out there. Best of wishes and good luck. Welcome.

Detrek.

Thanks everybody, I have started looking on Craigslist and I am currently dusting off my resume so that I can have a decent follow up to my inquiries, thanks again. Great suggestions.

Hey all,

In the next year I will be relocating to the Tacoma/ Seattle area and I am looking to connect with any investors in the area. One of the things that helps me thrive is social accountability and strong community so I am more than excited to touch base with anybody in the area. Feel free to drop me a line.

Best Wishes to all,

Detrek

Hey Glen,

I am looking at re-locating from California to the Seattle/Tacoma area in August of next year. I'm looking forward to the move and hoping to establish some connections. One thing I've been interested in is the crime rate in Tacoma. I hear some negative things, but I think every city has its good and bad areas. Do you have any insights on crime in Tacoma/Seattle? Or maybe a website recommendation that you use to compare neighborhoods? Thanks for your time Glen. Best of wishes for your continued success!

I have a full time job and go to school part time. I would like to get into real estate investing but first I would like to save enough money for a safety net. My current goal is to reach $24,000 in savings by August 2014. My income and expenses are such that with effort I would only need to supplement my income by a few hundred dollars per month in order to reach my goal. Do you know of any ways that I could earn money while learning the real estate investing business?
