WELCOME TO BP! I hope you like it here and I hope you really start listening to the podcasts. Have you gotten a chance to read @Brandon Turner 's book on Investing With Low and No Money Down? I have and it was great to get me in the mindset. My wife and I are looking to house-hack a duplex up fourplex also and we're getting close to our reserve stores and we'll be looking to buy soon.

I know you're in Pearland but where are you looking to actually live in MFH? I've been keeping an eye on several neighborhoods and can probably tell you if you're going to have a hard time finding them. I hope you aren't looking to leave Pearland especially since you've got Killen's BBQ out there...

Anyway, hope to see you at the Houston BP Monthly MeetUp that @Charles Nguyen

tells everyone when and where it's going to be. Follow him and you'll find out. We're also in the MeetUp app as Real Estate Investors of Houston.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have been listening to the podcasts every chance I get. I started with the most recent and I'm on 105 now I think. I havent read the book yet but I really want to. But I'll probably get the audiobook seeing as I don't have much time to read right now.

My fiancé and I are looking to stay in Pearland. Our family and jobs are here along with Killens lol. Speaking of which, if you haven't tried it yet there's a doughnut shop in Pearland, Pena's doughnut heaven, that makes "killaches" which are kolaches made with Killens brisket which is amazing. Anyways, I haven't had any luck finding any MFHs in Pearland so we have been talking about a live in flip with a single family and use any profit as a down payment on another property.

Thank you for the info on the BP meet up! I was actually going to ask about any local meet ups. I look forward to attending them.

In response to Question #2, I'll follow your topic to see what responses you get! I'm working on getting my 2nd home (hopefully duplex to 3-4 unit multiplex) with my husband. I purchased my first condo a year and a half ago. It's proving to be difficult, but it is possible. I'm shopping with 3 local lenders and will let you know what the final verdict is! ;)

Awesome! Congrats on your hopeful second purchase. Thank you for the tip and yeah definitely let me know how the property purchase goes.

Thank yall for the quick welcome.

I have actually been looking for multi family homes in the area of town where we want to live, unfortunately I haven't been able to find a single multi yet. I will talk to an agent about it though. I have seen a few multi family homes in the galleria area that I might look into, but I don't know if they're a practical location for me and my fiancé to live due to our current jobs.

Hello everyone, my name is Jordan, I'm 28 years old and I live in Pearland Texas. I've been wanting to get in to renting and flipping houses for years now, recently I've decided there's no better time than now to start. I've been trying to learn everything I can by listening to the Bigger Pockets pod casts and webinars, and have been looking through the forums. I'm trying to get to a place where I can purchase my first rental property. I currently have little to no cash to put down as a down payment and I'm worried that will slow me down. I've found a couple properties in the area that the cost looks affordable but I haven't done any analysis numbers on them or talked to an agent about them.

I'm sure I'll have a couple million questions to ask, so thank you everyone in advance.

The first couple of questions I have of questions I have are,

1. I know it's possible to get a loan with 0 down, but would it be a good idea to for my first rental property?

2. My fiancé and I are currently renting an apartment and have been wanting to get a house for ourselves. We both have great credit but would we be able to get two mortgages with in about a year of each other?

Again thank you everyone for any future help, I eagerly look forward to learning everything I can about my future business venture.
