@Ashish Acharya Thanks, im sure having that will make things a whole lot easier. On paper, at least to get a plan together.
@John Logue Thanks John for listing them. I was browsing homes on auction.com and some say buyer resposible for certain fees or back taxes. But im sure thats a whole other issue since they are at auction.
@Matt Engle Thanks, that is what I have been reading about house hacking. It is probably the easiest way to get started and move forward. As far as raising money, do mean using hard money / private lending?

Looking into house hacking to raise money to fund my first deal. My family of 4 live in a SFR with about 35K in equity. I'm thinking of selling and buying a 2-3 unit or do the necessary repairs to my SFR then rent it out and look for a live in flip. I'm a veteran and know there is a program similar to a 203k but don't have the fine details yet. What strategy should I use to get thing started?

Im looking at a home for a flip. Being that it will be my first investment property, I need help in determining if there will any hidden costs I may not know about that I will be responsible if I become its new owner. Thanks in advance to all!
