@Jordan Moorhead

Hey Jordan, I appreciate you taking the time to read and reply. Thank you:)

I have been thinking of house hacking as well, but I am currently locked into a lease until next June (10 months) so don't know if that strategy works right now.

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

So this is my second beginner post :) The last time I posted an introduction of myself I received some wise words and warm welcomes, which were very much appreciated. Since then things have changed for me a bit :)

In my first post I was reaching out from Brooklyn, NY, today I am writing from Austin, Texas, I took the advice of a follow member and got out of NYC with hopes to see my investment money go further. Secondly, I am further along in my process of deciding on what path I would like to explore when it comes to real estate. So in an attempt to create a new network, meet some new folks who have more experience than I or just chat with some awesome people on the same journey, here's my intro.

The name is Joseph and I just turned the big 35, I have always been a hard physical worker but I am trying to switch my mindset from physical laborer to investor. I have saved up a nice chunk of change and I am ready to finally put some skin in the game. My interest seems to be gravitating towards Multi-Unit real estate (2-6 units would be ideal).

I moved to the midwest for opportunity but it did come at a cost of my home network of friends and family. With that, I am looking forward to meeting as many people as possible to join me on the journey. I am seriously a sponge right now and trying to absorb as much information as possible so any advice and/or guidance is appreciated.

I have recently spoke with a realtor, scheduled a talk with a CPA and I'm preparing to talk with lenders :) Small steps hopefully in the right direction.

Thanks for taking the time to read this! And I look forward to hearing back from you.

Hey Sean that is super kind of you. I do have a bunch of questions haha, especially on investing out of state, since NYC seems a bit more challenging to break into. Finding a strategy that works for me and lifestyle sounds like great advice. Thanks for taking the time to read and reach out to the post.

Hey William,

I do have a sister in Staten Island that I visit fairly often so I may take you up on that offer in the near future. I appreciate you reaching out.

Sandy, I wanna be like you when I grow up =) I really appreciate you taking the time to read the message and reply as thoughtfully as you have. I marked my calendar reminder for every Wednesday to catch the webinars and will read the landlord link now. Thanks.

Cory, I hear you loud and clear. Thanks for the time and reply.

Hello BiggerPockets Community,

So a small introduction, the name is Joseph, I am 34 years old, born, raised and currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I have been working really hard the last few years to earn/save money in order to make some sort of tangible move for myself (ultimately my whole family). I know myself to be organized, hardworking, a great team player, kind and respectful, motivated and logical.

I have built a good amount of risk tolerance through life, sport and financial investments, mostly in stocks ( this helped develop that strong stomach). I am a big Dave Ramsey fan and have worked on a creating a strong financial foundation, no debt, emergency found over 6 months, a retirement account and now money I have saved for investments.

I have purchased "The Book on Rental Property Investing" and although I am about half way through I have learned a lot. Being in NYC does make things a bit more challenging given the entry price of the market here but I am excited to explore things a bit more and hopefully learn from those who have walked this path before. Some of which I hope to find here in Bigger Pockets.

I have arrived with the intent to be a sponge and I am open to all forms of advice and guidance. Feel free to reach out, comment or bust my chops along the way haha.

Thanks for having me.
