@Aaron K.

Ah I see. Would I have to get the property re-valued? Or do I just increase the rent on my own after renovations?

Me and my cousin owns a duplex where she owns one side and I own the other.

The duplex is currently outdated and I want to move in and renovate my side of the duplex and I was just wondering if it will increase the value of the entire duplex?

My cousin does not want to renovate her side because it is currently being leased out to good tenants and she does not want to deal with new tenants.

I currently own an older rental property. The lease has ended for my tenants and i want to move into it for about a year to renovate it, and later rent it out again at a higher price. Am i able to write off any renovations in my taxes if i am living in it since it will not be producing me any income while i am residing in it?

I will be getting married very soon and me and my fiancé have been looking into getting our first home. Now we are looking in the California market, so homes are very pricey.

We are planning on buying a new construction that has a layout to potentially rent it out to help with the rent.

Does anyone have any experience with new construction at all?
