Hi @Trexie E. - thanks for the suggestions. I'm already going through the guide, but I wouldn't be able to join the webinars as the times don't work for me.

Hey @John Van Uytven - yeah Korea is great, it can be done as a quick day-trip from here. I was doing some consulting out in Chicago.

Thanks for the welcome @Martha F.

Hi @Frank S. - I'm looking for cash-flow (appreciation would be a plus). I haven't decided on SFH or MF yet (more learning / research needed on my part). From what you mentioned, it sounds like SFH for A/B would need to be in the outer suburbs?

@Don Colagrossi - thanks. I plan on likely using a turnkey, so I'm not planning on putting together a full-on team (lawyer, accountant, etc...) but am definitely planning on having a good inspector as well as someone that can guide me through the neighborhoods.

Thanks @Paul Timmins - I don't have a local REIA since I'm outside the States so am planning on digging into the 'out of country' investor forums. I haven't read those books yet...its on my list now!

Thanks for the welcome @Jill DeWit!

Hi @Walter Jones - yeah, I've already seen in my brief browsing that there seems to be slower appreciation where most of the turnkey properties are. Seems I'll need to be clear on what my intent / exit strategy is before getting in. Thanks.

Thanks @Jim Gramata - I was also just thinking about having to put together my requirements list for what I'm looking for. Its so easy to just start looking w/o really having a clear idea what your targets are.

Hey BPers - I'm a new investor living in Tokyo for work, but am looking to invest in Chicago (lived there). I'm still learning but am hoping to make a trip out there sometime later this year for work and pleasure.

Being that I'm a loooong way from Chicago, I'm looking to start with a TurnKey in either SFR or multi-fam properties, but have not decided which yet. From my brief browsing, it seems someone like me should probably start out with a grade A/B property rather than C/D, but any inputs on this would be great.

The financial analysis of properties seems something I can pick up, but I haven't seen much info on Turnkey exit strategies, so that's on my to-do lis as well.

Anyhow - looking forward to learning much from the community, and would be interested in meeting up with anyone here locally. Good night, or have a great rest of the day...where ever you may be!
