Hello, I'm curious if I should enroll in real estate classes and get my license before I make my first purchase. Is this a good way to go? My goal is to purchase rental property.

Quote from @Simmy Ahluwalia:

If you are using a retirement account for the down-payment on an investment property, your 1st position debt loan MUST BE non-recourse.  If you haven't looked into this, you definitely need to.  Talk to your Financial Advisor and/or CPA.

So your saying I would need collateral against the mortgage loan?

I'm also curious if I should take my 401k out of stocks and move it to a stable fund. That way if the stock market drops before I make a real estate investment my money is safer. Thoughts?

Should I take a loan from my 401k to put a down-payment on my first real estate investment?
